Abstract Construction industry as a whole should transform into designs that enable demountability and direct reuse of structural elements to achieve the circularity in construction. Currently, connections enabling components construction are limited. Column base one main load transfer units steel structure for magnitude forces being transferred from superstructure. This paper presents an interlocking type column connection enables all associated components. The proposed transfers force through plate bearing holding mechanisms requires minimal number bolts. In addition better approach, new enhances simplifies mounting procedure leads increased productivity article discusses overall concept connection, design philosophy compares failure modes with existing conventional bolted various loading cases finite element analyses. Main parameters investigated effects length connector thickness under uniaxial loading. A model is built which influential analysed.
